Night of Music
This summer, through the Arts for EveryBody initiative, 18 cities and towns across the U.S. presented highly visible, participatory public art projects designed to strengthen community wellbeing. These projects were the product of 18 unique, scalable models for collaboration across the arts, health, and municipal sectors in communities with vastly different economic, social, racial, and geographic experiences.
Before sunsetting as an initiative in 2025, Arts for EveryBody is issuing a call to action. From February 5-8th, leaders from all 18 sites will come together for the first and only time to reflect on how their communities have been changed and to inspire others across the U.S. to join in on the powerful work of cross-sector collaboration and community healing through artmaking. Public Programming will begin in the evening on Thursday, February 6 and continue through the evening of Friday, February 7, 2025.

Celebrate AMERI’KANA presents Rubén Albarrán, Making Movies, Terrance Simien, The Sensational Barnes Brothers, John Forte, Binta, Max Gomez, Marcella Simien, and more in an evening-long festival at Sony Hall on January 10th, 2025. Founded by the Latin Grammy-nominated band Making Movies, Celebrate AMERI’KANA is a traveling festival honoring the diverse colors of American music. Examining how artists of different backgrounds, ethnicities, languages and cultures – and their own unique sounds – have shaped American music, and what it means to be an American musician past and present. “We’ve been building spaces in the U.S. that curate music differently – music measured by its spirit. This feels like an important time to use music to unite us.” Enrique Chi, Making Movies.
